Frequently asked questions
Answers to questions about the rental, qualifications, transport, service and sale of cherry pickers (aerial work platforms, MEWPs).
What qualifications do I need to operate an aerial lift?
To operate a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP: a scissor, articulating, telescopic or vertical mast lift) on your own, you need a UDT licence (UDT is the Polish Office of Technical Inspection). RK Rental runs its own training with an official examination board. After you pass the exam you receive a qualification certificate; for mobile (travelling) elevating work platforms it is valid for 5 years.
Do the UDT courses end with an exam?
Yes. Courses and exams take place at our premises in Brzoza near Bydgoszcz, and the examination board includes officials of the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) in Bydgoszcz.
Does RK Rental deliver equipment to site?

Do you rent out aerial lifts with an operator?
As standard we rent out the machine without an operator: it is operated by a person on the hirer's side holding a UDT qualification certificate (you can obtain it on our training course). You can ask about rental with an operator when requesting a quote: it is possible when a service technician with operator qualifications is free on the dates in question.
What happens if the rented equipment breaks down?
We offer a mobile service: the repair is carried out on site at the customer's premises, on the construction site, in the hall or in the warehouse. For the most demanding customers a quick replacement of the machine is also possible, so that work can go ahead without delays.
Do you sell equipment or only rent it out?
Both. Besides rental, we also sell new and used mobile elevating work platforms from well-known brands.
