Safe purchase of a new aerial lift
A new machine has no hidden defects. The risk is a wrong choice.
Buying a new cherry picker (aerial work platform, MEWP) or scissor lift safely comes down to three things: a model matched to the task, terms in writing and a service provider who knows the brand. At RK Rental you choose from 331 models from Genie, Haulotte, JLG, LGMG, Niftylift, Skyjack, Snorkel and Zoomlion, with working heights from 3.5 m to 82.3 m, at prices from PLN 21,900 net. Our rental fleet also has 27 models from the catalogue, so you can see the machine at work before you order it. You buy with the manufacturer's warranty, the CE declaration of conformity and UDT (the Polish Office of Technical Inspection) included in the price: we prepare the documents and see the application through to a decision issued in your name. We also train operators and service the machine after the purchase.

Why buy a new lift from a company that rents them out itself?
Because we advise from practice, not from a brochure. Our rental fleet has over 250 machines, including machines from Genie, Haulotte, JLG, Manitou and Zoomlion. We know which model stands up to daily work, what wears out in it and what it costs to keep, because we pay for that ourselves. So we recommend the machines we would want in our own fleet, and when renting or a used machine is the better option, we say so plainly.
What mistakes should I avoid when buying a new lift?
Six mistakes we see most often. None concerns the quality of the machine; all concern selection and preparation. Each can be avoided before you sign the order.
Height “just in case”
A machine several metres taller than you need is heavier, more expensive and will not fit where a smaller one would. Too low and it will not do the job at all.
Count the working height, that is, the height at which hands work: the platform floor plus about 2 m. In the catalogue you filter models by exactly that.
Forgotten horizontal outreach
Over a machine, a rack or a roof, what counts is how far you reach sideways, not how high. A scissor lift only goes up.
Where there are obstacles, choose an articulating or telescopic boom lift. We give the horizontal outreach on the cards of those models.
Drive not suited to the place
A diesel machine in a closed hall means exhaust fumes and noise. An electric one on soft, uneven ground will simply get stuck.
For halls and floors, electric drive. Off-road, diesel 4×4. For both jobs, hybrid. Power source is one of the catalogue filters.
It does not fit or is too heavy
A gate, a goods lift, a floor slab, a mezzanine, an industrial floor. A few centimetres or a few hundred kilograms too many and the machine stays outside the hall.
Measure the narrowest passage and check the load-bearing capacity of the floor. We give the transport dimensions and weight on the model cards, often with a dimensional drawing; where a figure is missing, we will give it in the quote.
Formalities left to the end
A new lift cannot work straight after delivery either. Without a UDT decision and an operator with qualifications the machine waits while the instalments keep running.
Plan UDT and training together with the order. With us you buy a new machine with UDT included in the price: we prepare the documents and see the application through to a decision. We train the operators on a course.
Counting only the purchase price
A lift is bought for years. Every year there is a UDT inspection, during the year maintenance inspections, and in electric machines, in time, batteries.
Before you buy, ask who will service the machine and for how much. With us it is mobile service, a parts shop and service packages with a price for the year.
Not sure which model fits? Describe the task and we will choose the machine and show two or three options with prices.
Can I check a model before I order a new one?
Yes: rent it. Our rental fleet also has 27 models from the new machine catalogue. You take a lift for a few days to your site or hall and check what no data sheet will show: whether it is comfortable for the operators to work with, whether it fits through your gate, whether the battery lasts a whole shift.
Rental is paid according to the price list, like any other. A few days cost a fraction of the price of a new machine, and you place your order without guessing.

Branding when you buy
Can you brand a machine I buy with my company logo?
A machine with your company logo. Before handover we can brand a machine you buy from us, used or new, with your company logo. Send us the logo or a ready sticker design and we take care of the rest: we order the stickers and apply them in our workshop. We have the experience, because this is how we mark the machines in our own rental fleet. We agree the price individually, depending on the number and size of the stickers.
What to send us
Your company logo, ideally as a vector file (PDF, SVG, EPS or AI), or a ready sticker design. Plain lettering is also enough, for example a telephone number or company name, cut out of vinyl along the outline of the letters, with no background.
No design yet?
The sticker design will be prepared by a graphic designer at the advertising company we work with. What goes where and how large, we agree with you before we order the stickers.
Where we apply them
On free, smooth surfaces: the platform guards, the boom or the scissor arms and the chassis. We apply the stickers to clean, undamaged paint. If the paint needs touching up in the place you choose, we will tell you when we quote.
What we never cover
Warning labels and the manufacturer's instructions, the data plate, the platform capacity marking or the UDT markings. They must stay visible and legible.
The price of branding is agreed individually and we give it in the offer together with the machine. We apply the stickers before handover, so the machine arrives at your site already marked.
How does buying a new lift work, step by step?
From the first conversation to the first day of work: 7 steps, each with a clear result.
- 1
You describe the task
The height you work at, obstacles, ground, indoors or outdoors, the narrowest passage. On that basis we narrow the choice to two or three models.
- 2
You compare models
In the catalogue you put machines side by side: parameters, dimensions, net and gross prices (some models on request). If the model is in our rental fleet, you can rent it first.
- 3
You receive a written quote
Model, price, transport, lead time, payment and warranty in one document: under a link, for printing or saving as a PDF.
- 4
You order
With a click in the quote or by telephone. We issue a VAT invoice; if you finance the purchase with leasing, we take that into account in the quote: an indicative instalment and a calculator are on the page of each model with a price, and we pass the enquiry with your chosen terms to the leasing company.
- 5
You collect the machine
We arrange delivery to the address you give anywhere in Poland. You know the cost of transport and the date from the quote.
- 6
UDT acceptance and training
UDT is included in the price of the machine: we see the application through to a decision issued in your name. We train operators for the exam on a course. With the UDT decision the machine can work.
- 7
We stay with the machine
Maintenance inspections, repairs, parts and service packages, in one company that knows such machines from its own rental fleet and workshop.
Can I work on a new lift straight after delivery?
Only after the UDT decision. We arrange it together with the purchase, included in the price of the machine, so you receive a new machine with UDT. A self-propelled mobile elevating work platform is subject to technical inspection even when brand new: the machine is reported to UDT, the Polish Office of Technical Inspection, and an inspector issues a decision permitting operation in your name. A new machine is simpler than a used one: UDT does not carry out an acceptance inspection with tests, it only checks the documents and identifies the machine, its condition and its markings. Then an annual periodic inspection and maintenance inspections at the intervals in the manufacturer's manual.
That is why we plan UDT and training together with the order, not after delivery. We prepare the machine and the documents, see the application through, and train operators for the exam before the UDT examination board (the course for mobile elevating work platforms costs PLN 750 per person).
Who will look after the machine after the purchase?
The same maintenance technicians who look after our rental fleet. A new machine also needs maintenance inspections with an entry in the maintenance log: we carry them out at your site, and in the event of a breakdown the mobile service comes to you.
- Mobile service: mechanics, hydraulics and electrics on site at the customer's.
- Service packages: annual care of the machine at a fixed price.
- Parts: an online shop and an enquiry by part number.
- Error codes: a database of JLG, Genie, Haulotte and Zoomlion codes.
A new machine is too much? There is a middle way
A used machine from our rental fleet, with a service history, or one imported to order from a recent year of manufacture with low usage, with documentation and UDT acceptance included in the price. Both come with a warranty of 1 month included in the price, up to 3 months with a service package.
Buying a new lift: frequently asked questions
How do I buy a new lift safely?
A new machine has no hidden defects, so a safe purchase comes down to three things: a model matched to the task (working height, horizontal outreach, drive, dimensions and weight), terms in writing (price, transport, lead time, warranty) and a service provider who knows the brand. At RK Rental you choose from 331 models from Genie, Haulotte, JLG, LGMG, Niftylift, Skyjack, Snorkel and Zoomlion, and 27 of them you can first rent from our rental fleet.
Does a new lift have to be reported to UDT?
Yes. A self-propelled mobile elevating work platform (a cherry picker, a scissor lift or similar) is subject to technical inspection by UDT, the Polish Office of Technical Inspection, even when brand new. The owner reports the machine to a UDT branch and only the decision permitting operation allows work. For a brand new machine UDT does not carry out an acceptance inspection with tests: it checks the documents and identifies the machine, its condition and its markings. At RK Rental you buy a new machine with UDT included in the price: we prepare the documents and see the application through to a decision issued in the buyer's name. After that an annual periodic inspection and maintenance inspections at the intervals in the manufacturer's manual apply.
Does a new lift come with a warranty?
Yes, we sell every new machine with the manufacturer's warranty. The scope and period of the warranty depend on the brand and are given in the quote.
Can I test a model before buying?
Yes. Our rental fleet also has 27 models from the new machine catalogue, including Haulotte Optimum 8, Zoomlion ZS0607AC-Li, Haulotte Compact 10N. You rent the same model for a few days, check it on your own task and only then order a new one. Rental is charged according to the price list.
How much does a new lift cost?
Prices of new lifts in the RK Rental catalogue start at PLN 21,900 net. The price depends on the type of machine, working height, drive and equipment; on the cards of priced models we give the net and gross amount (the rest on request), and we quote transport in the quote.
New or used lift: which should I choose?
New when the machine is to work every day for years and the manufacturer's warranty, the full service life and a choice of configuration matter. Used when it works regularly but the budget is smaller: then a machine from our rental fleet or one imported to order from a recent year of manufacture is worth considering. When you need a lift only a few times a year, renting works out cheaper.
Who services a new lift after the purchase?
RK Rental. Our mobile service comes to the machine on site or to your company, carries out maintenance inspections and repairs, and you order parts in our online shop. Service packages are available for regular care.
Can you brand a machine I buy with my company logo?
Yes. We brand a machine bought from RK Rental, used or new, before handover in our workshop; this is also how we mark the machines in our own rental fleet. Send us the logo (ideally as a vector file) or a ready sticker design. It can also be plain lettering, for example a telephone number cut out of vinyl along the outline. If you do not have a design, a graphic designer at the advertising company we work with will prepare it. We agree the places and the size of the stickers with you. We do not cover warning labels, the data plate, the platform capacity marking or the UDT markings. We agree the price individually and give it in the offer.
Does the operator of a new lift need qualifications?
Yes: a UDT qualification certificate for operating mobile elevating work platforms. RK Rental runs courses ending in an exam before a UDT examination board; the course for mobile elevating work platforms costs PLN 750 per person.
