What is the Kubota KX018-4 used for?
The Kubota KX018-4 is a tracked mini excavator in the lightest machine class, designed for groundwork where a larger excavator cannot get in: on private properties, in gardens, between buildings and on built-up plots. It digs trenches for cables, water supply and sewer pipes as well as excavations for foundations and posts, while the 0.23 m high dozer blade is used for backfilling and levelling ground.
Rubber tracks 230 mm wide and a ground pressure of 26.5 kPa minimise marks on lawns and block paving. The rear swing radius of the upper structure is 1.07 m, and the boom swings 75° to the left and 60° to the right, so you can dig along walls and fences without repositioning the machine. The cab protective structure meets ROPS (ISO 3471), TOPS and OPG Level 1 requirements.
When choosing, it is worth knowing that the standard bucket has a capacity of 0.041 m³ (SAE) and the bucket digging force reaches 15.9 kN. The three-cylinder Kubota D902 diesel engine, rated at 11.8 kW (16 hp), meets the Stage V standard and can run on HVO fuel. Unlike mini excavators with a fixed-width undercarriage, the KX018-4 combines access through narrow gateways with stable operation at full reach.
- Excavations for utility connections
- Trenches for cables and drainage
- Fence and patio foundations
- Garden groundwork
- Backfilling and levelling with the blade
- Digging next to building walls
