Aerial lift error codes: check what yours means
Is your scissor lift, boom lift or cherry picker (aerial work platform, MEWP) showing a code on the display? Choose the brand and the machine type and enter the code. You will see what it means, the possible causes, the checks and the solution, quoted in the original wording of the manufacturer's service manual. The database holds 8,310 codes for JLG, Genie, Haulotte and Zoomlion machines, explained on the basis of the manufacturers' service manuals.
Where the manual gives only the message for a code, its page shows the message and general guidance. The manual for the Zoomlion ZS series (ZS0407 to ZS1414) exists only in Polish: those descriptions are our English translation, marked on each page.
You can also look up a code by web address, e.g. fajnepodnosniki.pl/en/error-codes/search?code=H001.
The descriptions are quoted from the manufacturer's service documentation and are for guidance only. Clearing codes, calibrations and repairs are carried out by a qualified service technician according to the manual for the specific serial number. A machine with an active blocking code must not be used until the cause has been removed.
How do I read JLG, Genie, Haulotte and Zoomlion error codes?
JLG
JLG ES series scissor lifts (1930ES, 2030ES, 2630ES, 2646ES, 3246ES)
The 3- or 4-digit code is shown on the ground control box display or on the JLG analyser; the first digit is the system group (2 = control, 3 = outputs/valves, 4 = power supply, 6 = communication, 8 = sensors). The same fault is also given as a flash code on the indicator light (e.g. 2/1).
Applies to: JLG 1930ES, 2030ES, 2630ES, 2646ES, 3246ES, 4045ES and derivatives (ES1932, ES3246)
All codes (206) →JLG
JLG LE electric scissor lifts (3369LE, 4069LE, M3369, M4069)
The DTC code (3 to 5 digits) is shown by the JLG analyser in the top right corner of the screen, on machines with software P1.0 or later. Older software gives a two-digit flash code instead (e.g. 2/2) at the end of the help message.
Applies to: JLG 3369LE, 4069LE, M3369, M4069

JLG boom lifts (450AJ, 600AJ, 800AJ, 460SJ, 660SJ, 860SJ, 1250AJP, M450AJ, M600JP)
The 3- or 4-digit code is read with the JLG analyser (socket in the chassis control box); the ground control display also gives a group/subgroup flash code (e.g. 4/3). Engine codes (437 ENGINE TROUBLE CODE) come from a separate engine controller.
Applies to: JLG 400S, 460SJ, 450AJ, 510AJ, 600AJ, 600S, 660SJ, 800AJ, 800S, 860SJ, 1250AJP, E450AJ, M450AJ, E600JP, M600JP and related models

The DTC code (a 4- or 5-digit number) is shown on the machine's display. In the manual the manufacturer gives only the number and the name of the fault, without a description of causes and solution, so for these codes we explain only what they mean.
Applies to: Zoomlion ZT20J, ZT26J, ZT30J, ZT34J, ZT58J, ZT68J, ZT72J-V

Zoomlion ZT J-V series telescopic boom lifts (ZT32J-V, ZT38J-V, ZT42J-V, ZT51J-V)
The DTC code (a 4- or 5-digit number) is shown on the machine's display. In the manual the manufacturer gives only the number and the name of the fault, without a description of causes and solution, so for these codes we explain only what they mean.
Applies to: Zoomlion ZT32J-V, ZT38J-V, ZT42J-V, ZT51J-V
All codes (188) →Haulotte
Haulotte: Activ'Screen (HA/HT RTJ, PRO) and ZAPI controllers (Compact, Optimum)
Newer Haulotte machines show an Fxx.yy code on the ground control box display (Activ'Screen); the letter A/D next to the code is the fault type (active / detected). Older electric scissor lifts (Compact, Optimum) have a ZAPI controller and AL / EP codes.
Applies to: Haulotte HA16 RTJ PRO, HA20 LE PRO, HA26 RTJ PRO, HT23 RTJ PRO, Compact 8/10/12/14, Optimum 8, Star 10

Aerial lift error codes: frequently asked questions
How do I check what a lift error code means?
Choose the brand (JLG, Genie, Haulotte, Zoomlion) and the machine type, then enter the code shown on the display of the control panel. The tool shows what the code means, the possible causes, the checks and the solution, quoted in the original wording of the manufacturer's service manual.
Where do I read the error code on a JLG lift?
On the display of the ground control box (on the chassis) or with a JLG analyser connected to the socket in the control box. The light on the control panel also flashes out a group/subgroup flash code, e.g. 2/1. The first digit of the code shows the system: 2 = control, 3 = outputs and valves, 4 = power supply and thermal protection, 6 = communication, 8 = sensors.
What do the letters in Genie error codes (H, P, U, F, C) mean?
H = hydraulics and valve coils, P = power supply and battery, U = control boxes and joystick, F = functions and interlocks, C = communication between control modules. The code is shown on the display of the GCON ground control box, e.g. H001, P002.
Can I work with a lift that has an active error code?
No, if the code blocks a function or concerns the safety systems (tilt, overload, sensors). Information codes (e.g. a normal operation message) need no reaction. Clearing codes and calibrations are carried out by service according to the manual for the machine's serial number.
Does the code not go away, or is it not in the database?
Send us a photo of the display and tell us the model. We will read the code, diagnose the cause and remove the fault at our workshop or on site at the customer's premises (construction site, factory, warehouse), with parts from our stock.
