UDT practice test: mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs)
A free online test that prepares you for the theory part of the exam of the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT, Urząd Dozoru Technicznego) for operating travelling mobile elevating work platforms (cherry pickers, scissor, articulating and telescopic lifts). The test is available in Polish only, because the UDT exam itself is held in Polish.
How does the test work?
The online test is modelled on the theory part of the UDT exam for travelling mobile elevating work platforms: the same kind of questions, a time limit and a pass mark (the parameters of the real exam may differ). 15 questions are drawn at random, you have 30 minutes, and you need 11 correct answers to pass: at most 4 mistakes. The questions are single-choice and show the correct answer. After each answer you see at once whether it was correct, and at the end you get your score and a verdict: passed or failed. Some questions include drawings, control panel pictograms and working range charts.
The UDT exam: what to know
The state exam before an examination board of the Office of Technical Inspection consists of a theory part (a single-choice test) and a practical part (operating the machine). It checks your knowledge of the design and safe operation of the device, health and safety rules and work at height, and of technical supervision and the operator's duties. After you pass, UDT issues a qualification certificate that entitles you to operate travelling mobile elevating work platforms in Poland. The exam is held in Polish.
How to prepare?
Repeat the test many times: every time a different set of questions is drawn. Read the correct answers and pay attention to questions with drawings, control panel pictograms and working range charts, which often appear in the exam. Repeat until you reliably score at least 11 out of 15 within the time limit.
