How much does lift rental cost? What the price depends on

What really affects the price of renting an aerial work platform (scissor lift, cherry picker or mast lift): machine type and height, rental period, transport, availability and extras. How to prepare when you ask for a quote.

“How much does it cost to rent a lift?” is the first question we hear. Below we give “from” prices for every type of aerial work platform (MEWP): scissor lifts, cherry pickers and mast lifts; the final rate depends on the model, the rental period and transport. Further on we explain what really affects the cost, so that it is easier for you to judge a quote and prepare your enquiry.

Rates are net per day, excluding transport (transport is quoted separately, from PLN 250 net). The lowest rate applies to rentals of more than 14 days. We confirm the final price when you book, because it depends on the model, the rental period and the delivery location. The full table of rates by working height is in the rental price list.

How do machine type and working height affect the price?

This is the most important factor. A light electric scissor lift for work inside a hall is priced differently from a large telescopic boom lift reaching several dozen metres. The general rule is simple: the greater the working height and the more specialised the design (articulating boom, telescopic boom, rough terrain 4×4), the higher the rate. That is why it pays not to over-specify: a machine with 10 metres of margin above what you really need is an unnecessary cost. If you are not sure what height you need, we help you work it out from a description of the job.

Is a longer rental cheaper per day?

The daily rate for a one-day rental is usually higher than the average cost per day of a weekly or monthly rental: the longer the period, the better the rate per day. When planning, it is worth estimating the length of the work realistically (with a margin for weather and delays), because extending a short rental day by day works out more expensive than agreeing a longer term from the start.

How much does lift transport cost and what does it depend on?

The lift has to be delivered to the site and collected. The cost of transport depends on the distance from our base in Brzoza near Bydgoszcz and on the size of the machine (smaller ones go on a trailer, the largest need specialist transport). For customers in Bydgoszcz, Toruń and the surrounding area transport is short and cheap; the further away you are, the larger the share of travel in the total cost. We organise the transport ourselves; the cost of delivery and collection starts from PLN 250 net and we give it in the quote, together with the date.

Do the date and machine availability change the price?

The price can also depend on the availability of a particular model on a given date. At the peak of the building season popular machines are sometimes booked well in advance: the sooner you report your need, the wider the choice and the smoother the quotation. A sudden “needed right now” can cost more, because it means reorganising the fleet and transport.

What can be added to the basic rental rate?

Elements that depend on the scope of the work can be added to the basic rate: travel and on-site training, extra attachments, insurance or extended working hours. Our machines have current inspections by the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) and full documentation, and if one breaks down we provide a mobile service. This is something that is often left out of cheaper “bargains”, and it really protects you from downtime on site.

How to prepare your quote enquiry

To get a specific, binding quote instead of a rough range, it is best to give us a few details: what working height and horizontal outreach you need to reach, where and on what ground the machine will work (inside or outside, paved or unpaved), for how long and from what date, and to what location the equipment is to be delivered. On that basis we will choose the right model from the fleet and give you the real cost, with no hidden extras.

Not sure which lift will be best? Describe the job to us: we will help you choose the machine and prepare a quote tailored to the specific work.
