Code 254 occurs in machines: Genie Z-80/60, S-80, S-85, GS-3384 RT, GS-3390, GS-4390, GS-5390, Z-60/34, S-40, S-45.

The Genie display shows code 254 with the message “Excessive Knock Signal”. It is a warning: some functions of the machine may be limited until the cause has been removed.
Possible causes
- Knock sensor wiring and/or connections open or shorted.
- there is excessive engine vibration.
- sensor is faulty.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
Check for excessive engine vibration OR repair wiring and/or connections to knock sensor OR replace knock sensor.
