What is the JLG 800AJ used for?
The JLG 800AJ is a tall articulating boom lift built for outdoor use: on construction sites, industrial plant grounds and large-area facilities. The Deutz TD 2.9 L4 engine rated at 50 kW (67 hp), compliant with Stage V with a DPF, together with 4WD and 0.20 m front axle oscillation, lets it travel over uneven ground. The 148 l fuel tank provides a large working reserve between refuelling stops.
A horizontal outreach of 15.8 m (16.45 m of working reach, counting the operator's 0.65 m beyond the platform) and an articulation point at 9.78 m mean that you can cover a large section of façade from a single position, or reach over an obstacle that cannot be driven around. A jib with a 130° range (+70° / −60°), 180° hydraulic platform rotation and 360° continuous turret rotation let you position the platform precisely at the structure. Two people work on the platform within the 230 kg capacity.
When choosing, allow for its size: a weight of 15,757 kg, transport length of 11.13 m, stowed height of 3.00 m and width of just under 2.5 m. Wheel load reaches 8,054 kg and ground pressure 5.30 kg/cm², so on soft ground it is worth providing ground mats. In the working position the rear of the turret swings out by 0.76 m. Gradeability is 45% in 4WD mode, and the tilt alarm is triggered at 4°.
