What is the Manitou MT 1440 Privilege used for?

The MT 1440 Privilege is a compactly built telehandler: it measures 2.45 m to the cab roof and 2.35 m across the tyres, which makes it easier to enter halls, open-sided sheds and warehouses with lower doors. Despite its compact dimensions it lifts 4,000 kg, and the 1,200 × 125 × 50 mm forks, with a spread of up to 1,040 mm, together with a carriage offering a 126° rotation range, reliably handle pallets of blocks, cement or roof tiles.

Hydraulic outriggers (3.79 m spread) and ±9° frame levelling allow the machine to be set up stably on uneven site ground. Rough-terrain tyres, 4×4 drive, a 34° ramp angle and 0.367 m of ground clearance under the centre of the chassis make it easier to cross embankments and ruts. The 101 hp Perkins 1104D-44TA engine works with a 4/4 torque converter transmission, and the drawbar pull is 8,250 daN.

When choosing a machine, compare your planned loads with the load chart to EN 1459 (load centre 500 mm from the fork heel). The spec sheet gives a tipping load of 1,950 kg at maximum outreach on outriggers; this is the stability limit, not the permitted load, which you read from the load chart for each boom position. On cramped yards the 3.98 m turning radius at the tyres is useful, and when driving onto ramps and floor slabs the machine's weight of 11,000 kg must be taken into account. A 170 l/min gear pump at 270 bar ensures efficient hydraulic operation.

Rental of a Manitou MT 1440 Privilege telehandler (4×4 drive, reach approx. 14 m): the machine prepared and checked at our base just before delivery to a customer in Września.
