The Genie display shows code 34-36 with the message “Ext. Ret. Limit Switch — Cross check fault”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.
Effect on the machine: Alarm sounds indicating a fault. Overload LED is on. Functions disabled, engine shutdown. Auxiliary functions enabled except extend.
Possible causes
The manual does not list the causes for this code: the service technician establishes them during diagnosis of the machine.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
Check primary boom retracted operational (LS1) and safety (LS5) limit switches. Boom retracted: 0 volts at C42LS of LS1. 12 volts at C166LS of LS5.
