The Genie display shows code 12-29 with the message “CAN Bus — System not functioning”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.
Effect on the machine: Machine will not be functional.
Possible causes
- CAN bus system is not functioning properly.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
Verify CAN bus is functional. Pull out connector J5 from the TCON and with a voltmeter set to resistance verify that pins 3 and 4 on the harness connector measure between 55 and 65 Ohms and that neither pin has a short to power or ground. Check wiring and boom cable for open or short circuits if resistance check fails.
