Long-term lift rental: when it pays off

Long-term rental of a lift instead of buying: a lower daily rate, a predictable cost, service and inspections by UDT (the Polish Office of Technical Inspection) handled by the rental company, and a replacement machine. When to choose long-term rental and when to buy.

When you need a lift for weeks or months (on a hall construction site, on a long-running construction project, in a production plant or warehouse) it is worth considering long-term rental instead of individual short rentals or buying a machine. Below we explain when it pays off and exactly what it includes.

What long-term rental is

It is the rental of a machine for a longer, fixed period agreed in advance, usually from a few weeks upwards, at a better rate than with daily rent. The machine stands at your premises and works whenever it is needed, while the formalities, service and technical supervision are the rental company’s responsibility.

The main benefits

  • A lower daily rate — the longer the period, the cheaper each day of the machine’s work compared with short rent.
  • Predictable cost — a lower daily rate on long rentals (see the thresholds on the price list); it is easier to plan the project budget.
  • Service and UDT on our side — maintenance inspections, UDT technical examinations and repairs are the rental company’s responsibility, unless the fault is caused by the renter (General Rental Terms, point 9).
  • Replacement machine — in the event of a breakdown we supply other equipment, so that work does not stop.
  • No tied-up capital — you do not buy a machine worth several hundred thousand PLN; the funds stay in the company.
  • Flexibility — when the project ends you simply return the equipment, with no problem of resale and loss of value.

Long-term rental or buying: which to choose

Buying is worth considering when the machine will work for you practically all the time for years and you have the facilities to service it and keep the UDT licences up to date. Your own equipment then pays for itself over time. We write more about machines for sale in our sales section, and the decision is also made easier by leasing finance.

Long-term rental is better when the need is limited in time (a specific project), variable (one machine now, another later) or when you do not want to deal with service, examinations and storage of the equipment. It is also a way to use a machine without the risk of it ageing and losing value.

What long-term rental at RK Rental includes

  • Arranging delivery and collection of the machine across the whole of Poland.
  • A machine with a current UDT examination and full documentation.
  • Maintenance inspections and a mobile service throughout the rental period.
  • Support in choosing the machine and, if needed, exchanging it for another.
  • The option of rental with or without an operator (if you hold your own UDT licences).

We also offer similar, continuous care of a machine under our service packages, if the equipment is already yours and you want to take inspections and UDT dates off your hands.

How much does long-term rental cost

We set the rate individually: it depends on the type and height of the machine, the length of rental, the scope of service and the location. The rule is simple: the longer the period, the lower the cost of each day. We have described what affects the price in detail in the article how much does cherry picker rental cost.

Ask for a long-term rental offer

Describe your project to us (which lift, for how long and where it is to work) and we will prepare a long-term rental offer with a favourable rate and full service cover. For larger projects we will put all the equipment you need into a single offer.
