What is the Genie Z-135/70 used for?
The Genie Z-135/70 is one of the tallest self-propelled MEWPs with an articulating boom: the platform rises to 41.15 m and can reach 21.26 m sideways. The machine performs well in heavy industry, the power sector and high-rise construction: for inspections of chimneys and cooling towers, steel structure erection, work on the façades of tall buildings and on structures that cannot be approached closely.
The 0.76 × 1.83 m platform is narrower than the 2.44 m platforms found in this class, which makes manoeuvring around lattice trusses, pipelines and installations easier; the 272 kg capacity is enough for operators with tools. 4×4 drive with rough terrain tyres takes the machine across a construction site, but with a weight of 20,366 kg the ground must be load-bearing, and on unsurfaced ground load-spreading mats are required.
Transport dimensions of 12.93 × 2.46 × 3.07 m must be taken into account when planning the gate and access road. The diesel engine makes the machine suited mainly to outdoor use or to very large, ventilated buildings. Compared with the JLG 1250AJP, the Genie offers greater working height and longer outreach, while the JLG offers higher platform capacity.
- Industrial chimney inspections
- Power-sector work
- Steel structure erection
- Tall building façades
- Bridge and viaduct servicing
- Work at a large set-back distance
