What is the Genie S-60 used for?
The Genie S-60 is an aerial work platform with a straight telescopic boom which, when extended, takes the basket 15.48 m out horizontally. This outreach is used where you cannot drive right up to the wall: beyond an excavation, a strip of greenery, a canopy or services on the façade. The 0.76 × 1.83 m platform is compact, making it easier to manoeuvre between structural members and to work at structural joints.
Weighing 9,385 kg, with 4×4 drive and rough terrain tyres, the S-60 is a machine for construction sites and industrial premises, not for delicate floors. Its transport dimensions are 8.51 × 2.49 × 2.72 m, so before delivery it is worth checking gates, passages under overpasses and the load-bearing capacity of the access route. The combustion engine lets you work away from a power supply; indoors, it may only be used in large, well-ventilated buildings.
When choosing, decide whether height or horizontal outreach matters more. The S-60 is chosen for work over obstacles, because at a similar height a telescopic boom usually reaches further sideways than an articulating boom lift.
