What is the Genie S-65 used for?
The Genie S-65 combines a long telescopic boom with a 1.52 m jib. The boom raises the platform to 19.8 m and extends it 17.1 m horizontally, while the jib lets you fine-tune the basket position at a cornice, a gutter or a structural joint without moving the chassis. The specification provides for two platform variants: 0.91 × 2.44 m for installation work with longer materials and 0.76 × 1.83 m for working between structural members.
Rough terrain tyres, 4×4 drive, 0.37 m of ground clearance and 45% gradeability let it travel across an unpaved construction site. Its weight of 10,102 kg requires load-bearing ground: before driving onto a floor slab, a ramp or block paving, their permissible load must be confirmed. A width of 2.49 m means transport on a low-loader trailer and access through a sufficiently wide gate; for transport the jib folds under the boom, reducing the length to 7.60 m.
When choosing, remember the 1.22 m turntable tail swing: when the turntable rotates, the counterweight extends beyond the chassis, so the working area must be fenced off. Compared with the related Genie S-60, this aerial work platform reaches higher and has a jib, which you will appreciate when working on façade details, while the S-60 is lighter. The 132 l fuel tank reduces refuelling breaks during long shifts.
