What is the Genie GS-2046 used for?
The Genie GS-2046 is a compact scissor lift for indoor use: the electric drive produces no exhaust fumes, the noise level does not exceed 70 dB(A), and non-marking tyres protect floors. The 2.26 × 1.16 m platform, with a deck extension that slides out by 0.91 m, lengthens to 3.18 m, so you can cover a longer section of installation from a single position. The machine can drive with the platform at full height, and a zero inner turning radius makes manoeuvring between racking easier.
When choosing it, check the access routes: the 1.16 m width rules out typical internal doors, but with the guardrails folded the machine height drops to 1.57 m, which makes it easier to pass under low door heads and to transport. The unladen weight of 1,775 kg and the maximum wheel load of 915 kg let you assess the load-bearing capacity of a floor slab or mezzanine. The tilt sensor allows 3° longitudinally and 1.5° laterally, so the ground must be level and firm.
Compared with narrower scissor lifts of similar height, the GS-2046 offers a wider platform and noticeably higher capacity, which suspended ceiling fitters, ventilation installers and painting crews working with a supply of materials will appreciate. Outdoors, the spec sheet allows one person to work up to a platform height of 4.98 m; for longer outdoor jobs, a MEWP with rough terrain drive will be a better choice.
