Message on the display: Max Governor Speed Override
Code 551 occurs in machines: Genie Z-80/60, S-80, S-85, GS-3384 RT, GS-3390, GS-4390, GS-5390.
blocking fault
The Genie display shows code 551 with the message “Max Governor Speed Override”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.
Possible causes
- ECM needs to be re-programmed.
- throttle is sticking open.
- there are air leaks between the throttle body and cylinder head.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
Re-program ECM OR repair binding throttle operation OR repair any air leaks between the throttle body and cylinder head.
