The Genie display shows code 78-36 with the message “Platform Controller (PCON) — Secondary processor not detected”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.

Effect on the machine: Controls from the platform will not operate.

Possible causes

  • TCON has not detected the PCON secondary processor on the communications bus.

What you can do

Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.

Solution from the manual

Reprogram the machine with latest software. Check http://firmware.genielift.com/ for the latest software version.
