Code 78-34 occurs in machines: Genie S-60 XC, S-80 XC, S-85 XC, S-80 HF, S-85 HF.

The Genie display shows code 78-34 with the message “Platform Controller (PCON) — Incorrect software version”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.

Effect on the machine: Boom Up and Extend functions will not operate.

Possible causes

  • PCON software revision does not match the system revision level.

What you can do

Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.

Reprogram the machine with latest software. Check http://firmware.genielift.com/ for the latest software version.
