What is the JLG 400S used for?
The JLG 400S is a telescopic boom lift whose straight boom raises the platform to a platform height of 12.36 m and 10.78 m sideways. A MEWP like this is chosen for tasks where horizontal reach and quick set-up matter: work on gutters and roof coverings, lighting installation, maintenance of steel structures and servicing installations on plant sites.
4×4 drive with rough terrain tyres lets it travel across construction sites and compacted ground, and its weight of 6,680 kg is moderate for the ground. In the stowed position the machine is 7.57 m long, 2.3 m wide and only 2.47 m high. Diesel power makes it best suited to outdoor use and to large, well-ventilated buildings.
The 0.91 × 1.83 m platform provides a comfortable work station for façade work and fitting components within 270 kg. Compared with the Genie S-40, the JLG 400S offers longer outreach (10.78 m instead of 9.65 m) and higher capacity (270 kg instead of 227 kg).
