What is the JLG 400SJ used for?
The JLG 400SJ is an aerial work platform with a telescopic boom ending in a jib, working with the platform at heights of up to 14.02 m. The telescopic design is an advantage wherever you need to reach far to the side: the horizontal outreach is 12.49 m, only slightly less than the platform height. The 0.91 × 2.44 m basket is convenient for work along façades, gutters and cornices and under roof eaves.
4×4 drive, rough terrain tyres and gradeability of up to 45% (30% in 2WD mode) let it travel across an unpaved construction site. The unladen weight is 7,189 kg and the maximum ground pressure is 4.06 kg/cm²; these values must be compared with the load-bearing capacity of block paving, a car park or a floor slab. The combustion engine, dual-fuel or diesel depending on the unit, makes the machine intended mainly for outdoor use.
When choosing a machine, check the access route: in the transport position the JLG 400SJ is 8.84 m long, 2.30 m wide and 2.39 m high, and its tail swing is 0.86 m. The boom rises in 29 s and lowers in 22 s, which cuts downtime when you frequently have to come down for materials.
