What is the JLG E450AJ used for?
The JLG E450AJ is an aerial work platform with an articulating boom, powered solely by batteries. A platform height of 13.72 m and horizontal outreach of 7.24 m are sufficient for work below the ceilings of production halls, in shopping centre atriums or for installing advertising and lighting on façades. The articulating boom lets you position the basket over an obstacle, for example a process line or racking, without having to drive right up beneath the work point.
Electric power produces no exhaust fumes and runs quietly, so work can be carried out in buildings that remain in use, such as shops, warehouses or hospitals, including during their opening hours. Because of the weight of 6,670 kg and the transport dimensions of 6.45 × 1.75 × 2.01 m, before driving in you need to check the gate clearance and the load-bearing capacity of the floor, floor slab or underground car park. 2WD drive works best on level, hard ground.
When choosing between the E450AJ and its hybrid counterpart, the M450AJ, the deciding factor is access to power: with regular charging, the electric version is entirely sufficient and needs no fuel. Compared with the Genie Z-45/25J DC, it offers a slightly higher capacity (230 kg against 227 kg) with a lower unladen weight, and compared with the Manitou 170 AETJ L, a higher capacity at the expense of height and outreach.
