Code 33 occurs in machines: Genie S-60, S-65, GS-3384 RT, GS-3390, GS-4390, GS-5390, Z-45/25.
blocking fault
The Genie display shows code 33 with the message “Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor high voltage”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.
Possible causes
- Engine is overheating.
- sensor wires shorted to ground or poor terminal connections.
- ECT sensor is faulty.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
Check engine coolant level OR check for shorted wires or poor terminal connections from the ECT sensor to the ECM OR replace the ECT sensor.
