Code 42 occurs in machines: Genie S-60, S-65, GS-3384 RT, GS-3390, GS-4390, GS-5390, Z-45/25.
warning / function limited
The Genie display shows code 42 with the message “Heated Oxygen (HO2) sensor high voltage”. It is a warning: some functions of the machine may be limited until the cause has been removed.
Possible causes
- A leaking or malfunctioning fuel injector, misfiring cylinder, faulty TP sensor or contamination of fuel.
- use of improper thread sealant on sensor threads.
- sensor wires shorted to ground or poor terminal connections.
- HO2 sensor is faulty.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
Test for a leaking or malfunctioning fuel injector, misfiring cylinder or bad TP sensor. Remove HO2 sensor and check condition of sensor for contamination OR check for poor terminal connections or shorted wires from the HO2 sensor to the ECM to ground OR replace HO2 sensor.
