The Genie display shows code 253-21 with the message “Capacitor Charge — Fault”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.
Effect on the machine: Shutdown Motor; Shutdown Main Contactor; Shutdown EM Brake; Shutdown Throttle; Full Brake.
Possible causes
- Precharge failed to charge the capacitor bank from the external precharge resistor.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.

*Check Key Switch(KSI) wiring on all AC motor controllers. (R181PWR OR) *Check for power drain on B+ cable See component fault screen to determine motor controller is reporting the issue
