What is the Genie Z-51/30J RT used for?
The Genie Z-51/30J RT is an articulating boom lift with 4×4 drive and rough terrain tyres, designed primarily for outdoor use: on construction sites, for steel structure erection, façade installations and roofing work. The boom clears obstacles at a height of 7.39 m, and the movable jib lets you position the platform precisely at the work point, for example under the eaves or above a parapet.
When planning the job, allow for the machine's width of 2.29 m, stowed height of 2.13 m and weight of 7,394 kg. Ground clearance of 0.37 m makes it easier to drive across an unsurfaced yard, and a travel speed of up to 8 km/h shortens moves between work positions. The diesel engine requires good ventilation, so indoors the machine is only suitable for large, well-ventilated halls.
Compared with MEWPs of similar height, it stands out for its zero tail swing: when slewing, the superstructure does not extend beyond the chassis footprint, so you can work right next to a wall or fence, or alongside a narrowed traffic lane.
