What is the Haulotte HA18 SPX used for?
The HA18 SPX is an articulating aerial work platform with a platform height of 15.2 m, designed for jobs where sideways reach matters most. Its 10.6 m outreach lets you reach over the roofs of lower buildings, over an excavation or over a strip of greenery without driving right up to the wall. The 1.8 × 0.8 m basket takes up to 230 kg, including the operator, tools and materials.
4WD and rough terrain tyres allow work on unsurfaced construction sites, in parks and on industrial sites. The combustion engine requires good ventilation if the machine is to work in a hall. Transport dimensions of 7.5 × 2.3 × 2.2 m and a weight of 7,660 kg mean that before driving in you need to check the width and height of the gate, the load capacity of the floor slab or ramp and the space for unloading.
When choosing between the HA18 SPX and the HA18 PX, compare the access parameters: both have 17.2 m of working height and 10.6 m of outreach, but the SPX is lighter (7,660 kg against 8,050 kg) and lower for transport (2.2 m against 2.3 m), while the PX has continuous 360° turret rotation and a tighter turning radius (3.75 m against 4.5 m). When less reach is enough, a lighter alternative may be a lower articulating cherry picker with a smaller transport size.
