What is the Haulotte HA16 PX used for?

The Haulotte HA16 PX is a compact aerial work platform with an articulating boom, four-wheel drive and rough terrain tyres. A 31 kW (42 hp) diesel engine and 0.40 m of ground clearance let it reach work points across unsurfaced construction sites, lawns or gravel, where an electric cherry picker would not cope. As a diesel-powered machine it is best suited to outdoor use, and a permissible wind speed of 60 km/h gives a margin when working in open areas.

The articulation point at 6.6 m lets you carry the basket over the roof of a low building, a fence or a machine, while the jib, which tilts through 140° (+70° / −70°), and 180° platform rotation make it easier to position yourself parallel to the façade. The 1.8 × 0.8 m platform holds an operator with installation materials. Raising the basket to full height takes 44 s, which noticeably shortens working time when the work position has to be moved frequently.

When choosing, bear in mind the dimensions: 2.30 m width, 2.20 m stowed height, 6.95 m length and 6,950 kg weight. An outside turning radius of 3.75 m and zero tail swing make manoeuvring easier on a tight site and next to fences. The tilt alarm is triggered at an inclination of 5°, so the work position should be as level as possible. Compared with electric articulating cherry pickers, the HA16 PX gives greater freedom off-road at the cost of a wider chassis.
