What is the Genie GS-3268 RT used for?
The Genie GS-3268 RT is a diesel scissor lift that combines a platform height of 9.75 m with a compact chassis. The 1.55 m wide platform with a 1.10 m deck extension lets you get close to a façade, a steel structure or installations below the ceiling. Proportional controls and a 40 s lift time are useful when installing lighting, gutters and sheet-metal flashings, and for finishing work on the outside of a building.
When choosing, take the occupancy limit into account: for indoor use, 4 people may be on the platform, and for outdoor use, 2, with a maximum permitted wind speed of 12.5 m/s. The machine climbs gradients of 30% and has 0.20 m of ground clearance, so it copes well on a firm construction site. Its 1.73 m width and 1.83 m height with the guardrails folded make it easier to drive through hall gates and to transport on a flatbed truck.
Compared with larger rough terrain scissor lifts, the GS-3268 RT offers lower capacity, but it is noticeably narrower and lighter, which matters for access routes and floors with limited load-bearing capacity. It is powered by an 18.6 kW Kubota diesel engine. In the version with optional hydraulic outriggers, the machine can be levelled up to 6.6° front to back and 10.6° side to side. When more capacity or a larger crew is needed, a heavier scissor lift is the better choice.
