What is the Genie GS-4390 RT used for?
The Genie GS-4390 RT is a large 4×4 diesel scissor lift for outdoor use: on construction sites, at warehouse halls and at industrial facilities. The 3.98 × 1.83 m platform has two deck extensions, a 1.52 m front one and a 1.22 m rear one, so with both deployed it reaches 6.57 m in length. From a single set-up you can work a long section of façade or install part of a steel structure without frequently repositioning the lift.
Rough terrain tyres, 0.36 m of ground clearance and self-levelling outriggers let you work on an unpaved, uneven site. The floor pressure is 7.98 kPa, lower than that of the narrower GS-4069 RT (10.24 kPa), but the 7,340 kg unladen weight and 2.34 m width mean you must check access, gates and the load-bearing capacity of the ground. In the stowed position the lift travels at 8.0 km/h, and with the platform raised at 1.1 km/h, which makes it easier to move along a wall.
When choosing a Genie model, compare the heights: the GS-4390 RT raises the platform to 12.75 m, while the twin GS-5390 RT with the same 680 kg capacity reaches 15.95 m. If your work stops at 15 m of working height, the lower model is lighter (7,340 kg versus 8,060 kg) and easier to transport, and with the guardrails folded it is only 2.25 m high.
