What is the Genie GS-5390 RT used for?
The Genie GS-5390 RT is a tall 4×4 diesel scissor lift that can replace scaffolding for work over large areas at height. The 3.98 × 1.83 m platform, extended by front and rear deck extensions to a length of 6.57 m, holds 4 people plus materials up to a total weight of 680 kg. It performs well for installing façades and hall structures, building services and finishing work at height.
Rough terrain tyres, 0.36 m of ground clearance and self-levelling outriggers let you work on an unpaved, uneven site. The 8,060 kg weight and 8.94 kPa floor pressure do, however, require load-bearing ground: before driving onto a floor slab or hall floor, check its strength, and the combustion engine requires good ventilation in an enclosed space. In the stowed position the machine travels at 8.0 km/h, and with the platform raised at 1.1 km/h.
When choosing, compare the GS-5390 RT with the lower GS-4390 RT: both have the same platform and a capacity of 680 kg, but the 5390 raises it to 15.95 m instead of 12.75 m. An alternative with the same working height is the Haulotte H18SX, which is lighter (7,300 kg) but has a capacity of 500 kg. With the guardrails folded, the GS-5390 RT is 2.47 m high.
