What is the Genie Z-33/18 used for?
The Genie Z-33/18 is a lightweight 12 m class aerial work platform. Its unladen weight of 3,665 kg is nearly half that of the Haulotte HA12 CJ+ (7,110 kg), which opens up access to sites that heavier articulating booms cannot enter: mezzanines, storeys with limited floor slab load capacity and floors in older buildings. Typical tasks are electrical installations, lighting, ventilation and maintenance work below the ceiling.
The machine is for indoor use: electric power produces no exhaust fumes, and non-marking tyres protect floors. In the stowed position it is 4.17 m long, 1.5 m wide and 1.98 m high. The short chassis makes it easier to turn just inside a gate and to manoeuvre between workstations, but its 1.5 m width rules out passing through ordinary doors, so a gate or a wide service passage is needed.
When choosing a machine, remember that low weight comes with shorter side reach: 5.57 m against 7 m on the Manitou 120 AETJ-C or 6.6 m on the Haulotte HA12 IP. The 0.76 × 1.17 m basket and 200 kg capacity are designed for an operator with tools. If ground load-bearing capacity and manoeuvrability are the priority, the Z-33/18 will be a better fit than heavier cherry pickers of similar height.
