Code 98-14 occurs in machines: Genie S-80 XC, S-85 XC, S-80 HF, S-85 HF.

The Genie display shows code 98-14 with the message “Platform Level Angle — Cross Check Fault”. It is a blocking fault or a safety-related code: do not use the machine until the cause has been found and removed.
Effect on the machine: Boom Up, Extend and/or Drive and Steer will not operate.
Possible causes
- Detected no platform angle changes despite boom movement up and down for more than 25 seconds, or the two internal sensing channels inside the Angle Sensor have registered a significant difference.
What you can do
Switch the machine off with the emergency stop and switch it on again. If the code comes back, do not use the machine and call service.
Solution from the manual
* Calibrate platform level angle sensor. * Check platform level angle sensor mount, verify all fasteners are tight. * Replace platform angle sensor.
